Institutional framework
For its implementation and monitoring, the Cotonou Partnership Agreement sets up certain joint institutions:
- The ACP-EC Council of Ministers, which in principle meets once a year.
- The ACP-EC Committee of Ambassadors, which meets regularly, in particular to prepare the Council sessions and whenever it proves necessary.
- the joint Parliamentary Assembly, which meets twice a year in plenary session.
