Euroclubs: Call for expression of interest (08/04/2011)

Chisinau, 08 April 2011. The Delegation of the European Union to Moldova (EU Delegation) launches a Call for Interest for youth all over Moldova, in setting up the Euroclubs. Selected youth will benefit from training on how to set up a Euroclub and will learn about similar practices from other countries.

The Call for expression of interest on Euroclubs opens today, 8th of April, and will close on 5th of May. During this period, those interested are asked to submit an essay on “What Euroclub means for my community,” together with the application form.

Twenty-five successful contenders will be selected by a Committee which will include representatives of EU Delegation and leaders of various youth organizations.

The finalists will benefit from training on establishing Euroclubs and developing activities for youth based on European values. The training will be held by foreign experts selected by the EU Delegation to Moldova, with experience in establishing Euroclubs and developing activities within organization goals. The training will be held in Chisinau.

Thereafter, training participants who will generate the most interesting projects on establishing an Euroclub will receive EU Delegation support.

The Euroclubs were first launched in Portugal in 1990 as youth associations based on the common values and interests of its members with the main goal to inform youth about the European Union, European values and standards.

10 -13 May 2011: Selection of participants.
16 – 20 May 2011: Training (1 day)
September 2011: Launch of Euroclubs in Moldova
