Paola Amadei is the current Head of Delegation of the European Union to the Kingdom of Lesotho. She began her tenure in September 2021. Ms. Amadei has over 30 years’ experience in international relations and development cooperation, having worked in European and international organisations. She began her professional career at the United Nations Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (ECLAC) in Santiago, Chile. She later joined the EU and has been posted previously to Jamaica, Belize, the Bahamas, Turks and Caicos, the Cayman Islands and to Eritrea. Between 2016 and 2020 she was the Executive Director of the EU-LAC (European Union, Latin American and Caribbean) Foundation, an international organisation based in Hamburg, Germany.
