The European Union and The Bahamas

The Delegation in Kingston, Jamaica is responsible for representing the European institutions in the country. The Delegation is also in charge of facilitating the implementation of the development programmes that have been made available to The Bahamas under the various programmes since the country signed the First Lomé Convention in 1975. With the entry into force of the Lisbon Treaty on the 1 December 2009 the Delegation of the European Commission has officially become the Delegation of the European Union.
