Record number of Israeli institutions for higher education selected under latest Tempus Call for Proposals (01/08/2012)

A record number of 5 projects that include Israeli institutions for higher education have been selected under the Fifth Call for Proposals of Tempus, a European Union programme which supports the modernization of higher education in the EU's neighboring countries. Three of the selected projects are coordinated by Israeli institutions - making this year's results the most impressive since Israel joined the Tempus programme in 2008. 

In total, over 20 Israeli  higher education  institutions will be involved in the new projects including: Al-Qasemi Academy- Academic College of Education, Beit Berl College, Ben-Gurion University of the Negev, the Council of Public Academic Colleges, Gordon Academic College of Education, the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, Holon Institute of Technology, Interdisciplinary Center Herzliya, Student Union Interdisciplinary Center Herzliya, Kaye Academic College of Education, the Max Stern Yezreel Valley College, the National Union of Israeli Students, NB School of Design, Sakhnin Academic College, Sapir Academic College, Sapir's Student Union, Shenkar Collage of Engineering & Design and Tel Aviv University.

The selected projects focus on diverse issues in higher education such as student support services, internationalization of academic colleges, multicultural education, interdisciplinary education and social work study programs.
