"This year marks the 20th anniversary of the 1993 World Conference on Human Rights in Vienna. The Vienna Declaration and Programme of Action confirmed the universality of all human rights and led to historic advances in their promotion and protection," stated the EU High Representative Catherine Ashton.
The Ninth World Trade Organisation Ministerial Conference (WTO MC9) took place in Bali, Indonesia, on 3-6 December 2013.
"I'm delighted at the news this morning of the global trade deal in Bali. This will give a real boost to the global economy," stated EC President José Manuel Barroso.

Indonesia is at the centre of interest of the current debate on reducing greenhouse gas emissions from deforestation and degradation because it has, over the past decade, been regarded as the country with the third highest emissions.
