The 17th European Union Film Festival - Europe in Love - screens 25 films from 25 EU countries. The festival travels to seven cities of India: Delhi, Bangalore, Pune, Chennai, Kolkata, Goa and Hyderabad.
The 17th European Union Film Festival, themed on "Europe in Love", started in Delhi on 14 March 2012. The representative selection of 25 films, each from a different EU Member State, manifests the European unity in its cultural diversity.
The 12th EU-India Summit took place on 10 February 2012 in New Delhi, India. The EU was represented by Herman Van Rompuy, President of the European Council, and José Manuel Barroso, President of the European Commission. India was represented by the Prime Minister, Dr. Manmohan Singh. EU Trade Commissioner Karel De Gucht also participated in the Summit.
Catherine Ashton, High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy was in India on 16-17 January 2012 to co-chair the EU-India Ministerial Meeting with Foreign Minister S.M. Krishna. They discussed bilateral, regional and multilateral issues in preparation for the EU-India Summit in February.
