The EU Delegation to Georgia organises an information meeting in preparation of the Eastern Partnership summit in Warsaw.

The EU Delegation will organise an event on Thursday, 15 September, 2011.

"Civil Society and the Eastern Partnership – opportunities and challenges".

It is an opportunity to inform members of the Civil Society Forum National Platforms of the upcoming EaP Summit in Warsaw and a conference Towards a European community of democracy, prosperity and stronger civil society which will be held as a side event to the Summit.

This meeting should also be seen in a broader context of a long term cooperation between the EU Delegation, the CSF National Platform and the Georgian authorities on EaP related issues and provides an opportunity to build trust between the CSF and EaP governments. This approach is fully in line with a Communication published in May 2011, entitled A new response to a changing neighbourhood. Consequently, an important objective of the meeting will be to examine ways in which the CSF contribution to the Eastern Partnership process can be made more meaningful, as well as discussing how civil society/government dialogue on key areas of the ENP can be taken forward.
