Civil Society and EU
Welcome to the EU Delegation to Georgia's civil society web-page. This is where Georgian civil society actors can follow the discussions on the programming of assistance and share information on the dialogue process in Georgia under the European Neighbourhood and Partnership Instrument (ENPI). The aim is to bring together in one place EU-related information of interest to civil society, whether it be news about upcoming events, funding opportunities, progress in the Eastern Partnership, useful reports or publications which can help you in your work. The EU Delegation to Georgia takes the role of civil society in development seriously and hopes that this initiative will provide a further opportunity to enhance our existing dialogue.
The European Union supports civil society through specific thematic instruments: the European Instrument for Democracy and Human Rights (EIDHR), the Non-State Actors and Local Authorities in Development Programme and the Instrument for Stability (IFS). Last but not the least, the EU increasingly seeks to provide grants through its sector and budget support programmes in order to encourage civil society to play a key role in the Georgia’s ambitious reform agenda.
We are always happy to receive feedback and encourage you to contact our civil society focal point, Helga Pender with any suggestions for how we can make this page work better for you. Helga.Pender@eeas.europa.eu
