Project will support development of metrology and standardisation infrastructure of Georgia in line with the EU and international best practices

The new EUR 1.2 million (GEL 3.5 million) project will be implemented by the British Standards Institution together with the Danish National Metrology Institute and the Latvian Standard (LVS) in association with the Georgian National Agency for Standards and Metrology (GEOSTM) for a duration of 21 months.

The project focus will be on providing industry, businesses, workers in Georgia with access to quality metrology and standardisation services of international standard, through a constant focus on improving knowledge and skills of employees, upgrading technical infrastructure, and improving work procedures and processes.

The project takes the form of a ‘Twinning’. It implies that bodies and institutions from the EU Member States transfer their know-how and procedures to the beneficiary country institutions.  It is fully funded by the EU.
