Within the Belarusian part of the competition, the EU Delegation in Minsk has selected 10 best drawings: works of Elizaveta ZDROK (10 year-old), Einar ISMAIL ZADE (8 year-old), Kristina DYUDELOVA (10 year-old), Aleksandra LASHUK (9 year-old), Aleksandra LAPSHINOVA (9 year-old), Elena MATUSEVICH (8 year-old), Aleksandra MAKSUDOVA (10 year-old), Aleksandra MATSKEVICH (10 year-old), Kristina MAZUR (9 year-old), and Mark SHUMOVETS (8 year-old).
In his inaugurating speech, Chargé d'affaires of the EU Delegation to Belarus Jean-Eric Holzapfel said that the competition had been organized «to raise awareness of the people around you about the issue of gender equality - the principle of equal treatment between women and men».
«I wish to congratulate you for your creative drawings and your engagement in the fight for gender equality», he added. «Our words of gratitude and congratulations also go to your parents, teachers, fellow friends and anyone who supported you in this creative contribution», he stressed.
The winners of the Belarusian competition received certificates of recognition and gifts that they may find useful in their studies and creative work.
During the event the children also introduced themselves and shared their experience of participation in the competition. Each of them presented their own drawings.
In his turn, Jean-Eric Holzapfel reminded that the gender equality remains one of the key priorities of the European Union, both inside and outside its borders.
