Visit of Commissioner Semeta to Australia

European Commissioner for Taxation, Customs, Statistics, Audit and Anti-Fraud, Algirdas Šemeta, was in Australia for discussion with Australian ministers, for an Australian taxation industry roundtable, and spoke at the European Australian Business Council Boardroom Dinner. Commissioner Šemeta visited Sydney and Canberra from 1 to 4 December 2013.

Commissioner for Taxation, Customs, Statistics, Audit and Anti-fraud, Algirdas Šemeta, travelled to Singapore and Australia from 28 November to 3 December to discuss international tax matters – notably the global fight against tax evasion – as well as customs cooperation and trade facilitation.

In Australia, Commissioner Šemeta met with Assistant Treasurer Arthur Sinodinos, Minister for Communications Malcolm Turnbull,  and the CEO of Australian Customs and Border Protection Service Michael Pezzullo.
