EU and Canada leaders met on Wednesday 5 May in Brussels for their regular summit.

Issues featuring on the agenda this year included bilateral economic and trade relations, in particular the ongoing negotiations on the Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement (CETA), and upgrading the EU-Canada political relationship. Other key themes included the world economy (G8/G20 summits), visa reciprocity, climate change, non-proliferation and foreign policy issues such as Haiti and Afghanistan.
