A Call for proposals under the EU-ACP Cooperation Programme in Science and Technology has been published (15/10/2012)
The Secretariat of the African, Caribbean and Pacific Group of States (ACP Secretariat) is seeking proposals for capacity building projects in Science, Technology, Innovation (STI) at intra-ACP level to
(i) identify, formulate and mainstream STI goals and priorities in the national and regional strategies of ACP countries;
(ii) improve national and regional capacities to devise, manage, monitor, evaluate and disseminate STI programmes and their results;
(iii) increase the awareness on the importance of STI for development among decision-makers, policy-makers and the general public.
This is the second Science and Technology Programme and the relevant call for proposals aims to award grants to actions primarily focused on Energy Access and Efficiency as well as Agriculture and Food Security. However, other sectors and/or interdisplinary approaches are not excluded as long as the foreseen actions and activities are in line with the objectives of the programme.
