Monitoring of trade and trade-related measures: in addition to the regular review of WTO Members' trade policies, the Trade Policy Review Body issues since the wake the financial and economic crisis also regular monitoring reports on trade measures taken in response to the crisis. These reports also analyse the measure's nature and its impact on trade. Reports are issued under the responsibility of WTO Director-General twice a year. This has now become a regular activity.

Following a request by the G20, the WTO secretariat, together with the secretariats of the OECD and UNCTAD, also prepares regular in-depth reports on trade and investment measures by the members of the G20. The EU is an active player in these monitoring exercises by the WTO, which complement our own monitoring of potentially trade restrictive measures taken by our trading partners.
