The EU at the forefront of the promotion of sustainable development worldwide

One of the EU's main policy objectives is to steer the process of globalization towards sustainable development. That is why the EU mobilizes its resources to realize essential economic, social and environmental objectives, such as the eradication of poverty and the closure of the development gap and the protection and sustainable use of environmental resources.

Working with partners

The Geneva delegations of the EU and its Member States pursue these objectives in a broad spectrum of international organizations including:

The Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE)

The UN Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD)

The World Intellectual Property Organisation (WIPO)

International Telecommunications Union (ITU)
