Media week events at the EU InfoCentre (05/03/2012)
In the period 6-12 March, series of events related to the media, media literacy, journalistic reporting about the EU, gender equality in the media, including social media and politics will be organised at the EU InfoCentre.
The first event Media Literacy Panel discussion: ‘Reading it right: from understanding media to active citizenship’ is scheduled for 06 March (Tuesday) at 12.00. Speakers on this panel are: Barbora ZAMRSKA, EU Delegation; Vesna NIKODINOVSKA, Macedonian Institute for Media; Blaga PANEVA, Bureau for development of education, Ministry of Education and Science and Tamara KJUPEVA, ‘Orce Nikolov’ high school.
On 7 March (Wednesday) the students of journalism from several universities and media organisations will attend the seminar Journalistic reporting of European Union issues ‘Covering the EU’. will be held on 8 March (Thursday) at 12.00. Slavco DIMITROV, Institute for Social Sciences and Humanities "Euro-Balkan", Gordana DUVNJAK from Utrinski Vesnik , Dr. Katerina KOLOZOVA from the Institute of Social Sciences and Humanities-Skopje, Emilija PETRESKA-KAMENJAROVA from the Broadcasting Council and Irena CVETKOVIC, activist of the Coalition ‘Sexual and health rights of marginalized communities’ will address the audience.
The Panel discussion: ‘Women in the media: challenges and opportunities in achieving balanced representation’
On 12 March (Monday) at 12.00 the Panel discussion ‘Taking public dialogue to the next level: Social media, a facilitating factor for participatory democracy’ will be held.
Journalists, cameramen and photo-reporters are kindly invited to attend the Panel discussions.
