Call for Proposals – European Instrument for Democracy and Human Rights (EIDHR) – Open EuropeAid/136-792/DD/ACT/MOZ (05/03/2015 > 20/04/2015)

The Delegation of the European Union in Mozambique is launching a call for proposals to promote Democracy and Human Rights in Mozambique for a total amount of €1.8 million. This launch arises in the framework of the celebration of the International Women's Day and illustrates the European Union's commitment towards the promotion and defence of fundamental freedoms.

The European Instrument for Democracy and Human Rights (EIDHR) is designed to help strengthen the civil society's role as an effective force of democratic reform and of Human Rights' protection.

The specific objective of the program is to support projects that focus on two priorities:

  • Gender Equality
  • Freedom of expression and access to information.

The maximum duration of the projects may not exceed 36 months.

All grants awarded for actions under the program must be between €100,000 and € 400,000.

Applicants shall access the full text of the guidelines before preparing their proposal. If the proposal is not submitted in accordance with the official application form, it will be automatically rejected.

The deadline for submission of concept notes is the 20th April 2015 at 3 pm. Proposals received after the deadline will be rejected without being examined.

An information session on this call for proposals will be organized at the EU delegation in Maputo, on the 11th March 2015 at 10 am.
