European Report on Development 2015 to be featured at JICA seminar

EU News 52/2015

3 March 2015

The Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) and the Delegation of the European Union to Japan will co-organise a seminar on 11 March, 2015 on the presentation of the European Report on Development 2015, ahead of the document's formal release next month.

The European Report on Development (ERD) is an independent research report that aims to enhance the European perspective on development issues, while also strengthening the links between the European research community and policymakers to promote research-informed policymaking.

The theme of this year's report is 'Implementing a transformative post-2015 development agenda: Combining finance and policies', and the document focuses on the interaction between finance and policies to promote a transformative post-2015 agenda. It is particularly timely as it comes amidst a global conversation on how to build on the Millennium Development Goals after 2015.

The seminar will feature an introduction by Gaspar Frontini, Head of Unit for Policy and Coherence in the European Commission's Directorate-General for Development and Cooperation, which will be followed by presentations on some key messages in the report.
