EU reinforces sanctions against Syrian regime

EU News 317/2014

Council of the European Union
ST 12023/14
Brussels, 22 July 2014

In view of the gravity of the situation in Syria, the Council today reinforced EU restrictive measures against the Syrian regime.

The Council has targeted three additional persons and nine entities due to their involvement in the violent repression of the civilian population or their support to the regime. These will be subject to an asset freeze and a ban from entering the EU.

Today's decision brings the total of persons under EU restrictions to 192 and the number of entities to 62.
