Well received course on the EU

Evrópustofa organised a course on the EU, How the EU works, in collaboration with ASÍ’s continuing educational services, Félagsmálaskólinn, which was held on 27 March.

The objective of the course was to cover EU matters in an accessible and interesting manner from the point of view of Iceland. Participants were informed about the EU, its main institutions and how decisions are made within the EU. Participants gained good knowledge of the Iceland-EU relations since the course covered the EEA agreement as well as Iceland's accession application. Furthermore, the course also covered EU policies in regional affairs, education, and labour market affairs.

The course was taught by political scientist and economist Auðjörg Ólafsdóttir and Halldór Grönvold, specialist in labour market affairs.

The course was well received and many interesting questions and conversations arose following the introductions.
