Italy, Peace and War on RIFF

Reykjavik International Film Festival, RIFF, begins today on 25 September and ends on 5 October. Among the events is a special section on films from Italy, which currently holds the EU presidency, and a panel on Peace and war. The festival is funded by among others by Creative Europe, the EU MEDIA programme and Evrópustofa.

This year marks 100 years since the start of World War I, and many of today
s conflicts can be traced to that global catastrophe. To mark the event, War and Peace are the special topics of RIFF this year. The program includes discussions with journalists, scholars and filmmakers as well as film screenings and is held in collaboration with the EU Info Centre, the University of Icelands Institute of International Affairs, Nordic Region in Focus, the Nordic House, the Embassy of Finland, the Icelandic Centre for Investigative Journalism and the Federation of Icelandic Journalists.

, will be among guests on European War-European Peace which takes place at the University Student Bar between 16.00-18.30 on 29 September where the focus will be on different aspects of European conflict and co-operation.
