A forum on the complexity of society

Discrimination, and discrimination that is based on multiple reasons, in the labour market will be the topic of discussion in the forum, held on Thursday 20. February, 13:00-15:30, at the National Museum of Iceland.

The forum is organized by the Icelandic Human Rights Centre, the Center for Gender Equality, and the Multicultural and Information Centre and is supported by the EU Progress Programme. 

The forum is open to all and is held in Icelandic.


13:00 “Adoption of the European Union’s Discrimination Directives – an important improvement of rights” – Dr. Oddný Mjöll Arnardóttir, Professor of Law, University of Iceland

13:30 “Discrimination based on origin and plurality” – Rúnar Helgi Haraldsson introduces the first results of a study done by the Multicultural and Information Centre

14:10 “Don’t point at me...”  On discrimination in the Icelandic labour market. – Dr. Marta Einarsdottir, specialist at the Research and Development Centre of the University of Akureyri (RHA).
