EU launches new call for proposals for pilot rural development measures under ENPARD programme in Georgia (23/03/2016)
The total amount of the call will be GEL 36 million (EUR 14 million), with a deadline for the submission of concept notes of 16 May 2016.
The European Neighbourhood Programme for Agriculture and Rural Development in Georgia (ENPARD - Georgia) is the EU's programme promoting agriculture and rural development policies and reforms and stimulating better employment and living conditions ofthe rural population in Georgia. It started in 2013 with a budget of GEL 265 million (EUR 102 million.)
As part of ENPARD's activities, in 2015 an initial call for proposals for rural development under ENPARD led to the ongoing pilot rural development actions in Kazbegi, Lagodekhi and Borjomi territorial units implemented by NGO.
Through this new Call for proposals for Pilot rural development measures (phase II) the scope of ENPARD will be expanded towards diversification of the rural economy including support for more competitive and climate resilient agricultural practices, the promotion of viable off-farm economic activities and the sustainable management and protection of environmental resources.
On this basis, the present Call will support new rural development measures in other territorial units of Georgia, and will extend the support in the existing ones after conclusion of the current actions.
This new Call for proposals is for an amount of EUR 14 million. The deadline for the submission of Concept notes is 16May 2016.
