EU Ambassador to Georgia Janos Herman meets Georgian Foreign Minister Mikheil Janelidze (12/01/2016)

On 8 January 2016, EU Ambassador to Georgia Janos Herman met Georgian Foreign Minister Mikheil Janelidze.

Talking points included the mechanisms for effective implementation of reforms on the agenda; the importance of visa liberalisation between Georgia and the European Union; and role of the European Union in the peaceful settlement of the conflict in Georgia.

Discussions also focused on Georgia’s regional and transit role and on the reforms carried out in the country in this direction. Mikheil Janelidze and Janos Herman also discussed the activities to be held in 2016 under the ‘EU Integration and Communication Strategy’.
 
In conclusion, Janos Herman congratulated Mikheil Janelidze on his appointment as the Georgian Foreign Minister and wished him success in his future endeavours. The two sides agreed to continue active co-operation with a view to ensuring successful implementation of Georgia’s European integration agenda.
