EU funded project dealing with Advancing Human Rights Culture throughout the education system in Georgia sums up successes (02/12/2015)
On 1 December, the Closing Conference of the EU-funded Project “ESFTUG For Advancing Human Rights Culture” was held by the Educators and Scientists Free Trade Union of Georgia (ESFTUG) from 3:30 to 5:30 PM at Holiday Inn Tbilisi.
The project is funded by the European Union with a total budget of € 147 000 project (approximately 372 000 GEL) and has been implementing since June 2014 for 18 months in various regions of Georgia and Tbilisi. At the Closing Conferese the project activities and results were presented along with actions of the Educators and Scientists Free Tarde Union of Georgia aimed at promoting development of the education system of Georgia. The project aimed to advocate the consolidated rights and interests of the employees of the education system and introduction of freedom of association, social and education rights to teachers and other workers. The project was aimed to raise awareness on the importance of collective bargaining and the effective protection of social, labour and education rights.
Representatives of the EU Delegation to Georgia, Ministry of Education and Science and patner organisations are invited at the closing conference. Teachers from regions across Georgia and trade union leaders are invited to participate as well.
