European Union Launches Project to Assist Government in Implementation of Association Agreement (09/12/2015)

2 million (5 million GEL) project will support the Government to deepen its integration with the European Union in line with the EU-Georgia Association Agreement (AA).

On 4 December 2015, the Office of the State Minister of European and Euro-Atlantic Integration and the European Union will launch the "Facility for the Implementation of the Association Agreement in Georgia" project

The aim of the project is to support and ensure enactment of agreements between the European Union and Georgia.

For the next 25 months, a number of leading Georgian and foreign experts will be working closely with the Office of the State Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration, Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development as well as those line ministries and institutions responsible for the implementation of the AA, including Deep and Comprehensive Free Trade Area, Visa Liberalisation Action Plan and the Association Agenda. To help Georgian authorities implement the AA on an institutional level, the experts will contribute to needs assessment and capacity building activities.  The total cost of the project is over EUR 2 million (approximately GEL 5 million).
