Workshop 4

Date: 20th-24th of March 2012

Designer: Ms. Jean Power from United Kingdom, an award-winning jewellery designer

Workshop description: Jean Power is an award-winning jewellery designer who enjoys combining her love of beads, shape and colour in her work. Her work is often inspired by the beads and techniques she uses, resulting in a pared-down look with little embellishment but big impact. Jean has been beading for over ten years and her love of the geometric was sparked with the first peyote project she ever beaded back in 2001. Whilst beading this piece she discovered how to add corners to her work, beaded her first triangle and has never looked back! She has recently developed a love for interchangeable items where pieces can be added in or removed to create different looks. When not beading she’s writing about beading, teaching beading, buying beads or playing roller derby. You can see more of her work on her website
