Delegation of EEAS, DG NEAR, DG Trade to visit Minsk (08/12/2015)
A delegation of the European External Action Service (EEAS), the Directorate-General for Neighbourhood and Enlargement Negotiations (DG NEAR) and the Directorate-General for Trade (DG Trade) of the European Commission will make a working visit to Minsk on 9-10 December.
The delegation will be led by Mr. Gunnar Wiegand, Deputy Managing Director for Europe and Central Asia (EEAS), and Ms. Katarina Mathernova, Deputy Director-General of DG NEAR. The delegation will meet with representatives of the Belarusian authorities, civil society, opposition parties, as well as with the heads of mission of European Union Member States and representatives of international organisations based in Minsk to take stock of the EU-Belarus relations and discuss further steps.
Separately, on 7-9 December an identification mission will stay in Minsk to prepare the Annual Action Program of the European Union for the Republic of Belarus for 2016, i.e. the program of EU-funded development cooperation with Belarus for next year. The identification mission is led by Mr. Mathieu Bousquet, Head of Unit for Neighbourhood East (DG NEAR).
