2012 Windows on Europe Film Festival
We are proud to present the 2012 season of the European Union Windows on Europe Film Festival. This festival showcases the best in European cinema with its rich diversity and talent. The program includes gems from Finland, France, Greece, the Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Hungary, Ireland, Spain, Slovakia, Germany, Sweden and Slovenia. With a diverse range of drama, thrillers, comedies, romance, fantasy and documentaries there is something for everyone!
The 2012 Windows on Europe Film Festival opens in Canberra on 10 February with the French film "Girl on the Train". Two British Australian premiere movies have been procured by our generous partners, Dendy Dinemas - "Coriolanus" directed by and starring Ralph Fiennes, and "The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel" starring Judi Dench, Bill Nighy and Maggie Smith.
The Festival takes place as follows:
- Canberra: Friday 10 February to Thursday 16 February,
- Brisbane: Thursday 23 February to Sunday 26 February, and
- Sydney: Friday 2 March to Thursday 8 March.
2012 also marks the 50th anniversary of relations between the European Union and Australia. This Festival is just one example of the many ways in which the EU and Australia interact in our ever-expanding cooperation in cultural, economic and political spheres.
